My Bio
My interest in still photography didn't begin until I was in my early 20s when I picked up an old 35mm SLR and started shooting candid street shots using black & white Kodak Tri-X film in an attempt to emulate the work of Andre Kertesz and Henri Cartier-Bresson whose classic photographs provided inspiration.
Eventually, my keen interest in music led me on a quest to photograph many performers using both black & white film and color slide film.
As an instructor of photography at Columbia University in the mid-80s I conducted an evening course for students and community members in basic black & white darkroom techniques and aesthetics.
I have had several gallery shows over the years in both New York and London and my work has been published numerous times in books, periodicals, and more recently on websites.
Currently, I shoot exclusively with digital equipment and am also an avid videographer of musical performances.
